Our Association
AN ACTIVE AND FRIENDLY ASSOCIATION OF GOOD NEIGHBORS.
The association is here to help make your home life more enjoyable. Here are some examples of the kind of things that we do.
TO PROVIDE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY AND NEIGHBORLINESS.
RUDGATE SPONSORS ONE OR TWO MAJOR SOCIAL EVENTS EACH YEAR:
A Spring Gathering and Cocktail Party usually held in early May. Invitations will be mailed in advance. This is a bi-annual event on even year dates.
The Autumn Picnic and pool party usually held the Sunday after Labor Day. This is an annual event and includes all family members. Invitations will be mailed in advance.
TO REVIEW AND APPROVE HOME AND LAND IMPROVEMENTS.
Ours is a beautiful community with high standards and character. Certain deed restrictions, which are binding on each lot in the neighborhood, give the Association necessary powers to review, and approve or request modifications to any construction. This step is essential to receive a City Building Permit. Plans and a plot plan should be submitted well in advance of submitting them to the City.
You cannot change the footprint of your house without getting Association approval.
The Architectural Committee is chaired by Paula Linden. Please have subcontractors submit plans ahead of construction. This includes landscapers whose work will change grades and alter runoffs. This is also the Committee to notify when builders are more disruptive (i.e. noise, dirt, etc.) than they should be.
TO BEAUTIFY ISLANDS AND OTHER COMMON AREAS
The landscaping of islands and creative community-wide beautification projects are important to the Landscaping Committee. This is the committee that stays in touch with the City for resurfacing roads, etc. Have an idea?? Call us.
TO ENCOURAGE NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY.
When you see tricycles in the driveway, it reminds us all of the importance of driving within the speed limit. Please be aware of the ‘Children At Play’ signs throughout our neighborhood.
TO LISTEN AND BE RESPONSIVE.
Call any of the board members with what’s on your mind. Please attend the Annual Meeting, which is held in mid-January at the Bloomfield Hills City Hall. Governance includes the collection of dues by our Treasurer and the imposition of liens on homeowners who refuse to pay their fair share of neighborhood costs.
OTHER.
Rejuvenate the Rudgate Board with residents and their fresh ideas for the future. All residents are encouraged to participate in association activities.
